The design/build process is not complicated.  Just follow these simple steps:

First:

Decide what your budget is.  This is the critical first step.    

Second:

Design your project.  If you don't have an in-house designer, choose one who will design to fit your budget. 

We design in cad and freehand.  Once your design is ready, take it to at least three builders for bidding.

Third:

Compare bids, considering your budget as well as the qualities of the builder, and hire the one who best suits your needs.

Your project should now be in the hands of a builder who is capable, reliable, witty, and easy to work with. 

Now it is up to the builder you have chosen to take your project to completion.
